Features of AMALPHA
What is AMALPHA?
1. High bonding strength
Provides metal-to-resin bonding strength at a level comparable to the breaking strength of the base material. It is possible to achieve strength in excess of 40 MPa*, although this depends on the strength of the resin.
*Results of in-house testing. Actual performance may vary depending on materials and molding conditions.
2. High sealing performance
Tight adhesion between metal and resin prevents gases and liquids from passing through the interface. No leakage was detected in helium leak testing*. No air leakage was detected in underwater airtightness testing up to 5 MPa (50 atm pressure)*.
*Results of in-house testing. Actual performance may vary depending on materials and molding conditions.
3. High durability
Absence of adhesives or other poor-durability members ensures degradation-free bonding up to the metal or resin’s strength limitations. No degradation was identified in thermal cycle testing (−40ºC to 150ºC, 1000 cycles) and high-temperature, high-humidity testing (80ºC, 80% RH, 1000 h).
4. Bonding of various metal-resin combinations
Mechanical bonding is independent of metal and resin compatibility.
5. Explicable mechanisms
The bonding uses “anchor effects,” the conditions of which can be monitored using an electronic microscope.
